The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…

Holy crap, why am I constantly amazed that Vi Keeland outdoes herself with every book? Once again she has given us such a wonderful story that is professor/TA romance but oh so much more. This book touches on tough subjects and fate. That life is mapped out for us and what you may think is a coincidence is really something that is meant to be.
You will not find a single character in this book that you don’t absolutely fall in love with, even down to the secondary characters. Vi has shown us that when you love someone it isn’t about what makes you happy but if you love someone its about making sure they are happy. Selfless love.
Both of these characters have things in their past that have shaped them. They are trying to move on from it all but one more than the other, or so it seems. They both have a ton of guilt in their lives and it holds them back from truly living a fulfilling life. Rachel is so feisty and when she doesn’t like something you are going to know it. Caine comes off as one who runs hot and cold, a tortured soul who doesn’t believe he can be with someone because he will mess it all up. These two were so amazing together but the road will not be without some major bumps.
I once again cannot recommend Vi’s book enough. This book was so much more than I was expecting from the blurb and I am just in awe of the truly beautiful story that Vi has given us.
